“Home Alone” with Bender Bending Rodriguez

By Skylarkk  //  Chiptune

So, I’ve begun the dark path down glitchtune avenue. The glorious sound of digital mayhem and mess! And today I have a little “beta test” of my circuit-bent DMG, aptly named Bender Bending Rodriguez. He’s complete with a steel expansion rod, which allows me to control the speed of the Game Boy itself.

Eventually he’ll receive a fresh coat of silver paint. I’m also planning on adding some other Bender-like appendages, such as arms and an antenna. But all of this is going to have to wait, because he’s got some technical problems that need fixing. For instance, his “B” key doesn’t function (a big problem if I want to use LSDJ with him). Also, he’s got some major dead pixel lines (Luckily, they’re only on the edges of the screen.)

On the plus side, his internal speaker still works (even with the rod jutting out). And he’s rocking a separate 3.5mm input for the ProSound mod. The variable speed mod has a switch as well – it’s conveniently located at the lower left hand side.

Check out the beta test of Bender I preformed, using the “Home Alone” game cartridge (It gets pretty high pitched at one point, so don’t freak out. It’s glitchtune, what else can I say!):
