Mr. Rabbit Visits Barcelona

Mr. Rabbit Visits Barcelona Album Cover

I’m working on a new album based on Vergnor Vinge’s next-gen tech thriller Rainbows End. I was greatly inspired by the novel. So, I decided to write and program some music to show just how cerebral and inspiring I found it to be. If you fancy yourself a tech-savvy person (especially you Web professionals out there), and you like science fiction, you should read the book – it’s amazing, or should I say “tragic.” Nonetheless, the music is still enjoyable even if you have not read the book.

The album is going to be filled with megabytes of  progressive, chiptune, mathrock and the like. It should be a great listen for anyone who likes their music with one foot in avant-rock and the other in classical electronic. The album will be comprised mostly of dynamic pieces, but there will also be some danceable stuff in there.

Below is a preview of one of the less danceable pieces. It is pure chiptune, composed entirely on one Game Boy in LSDJ. With it’s time signature changes, it wildly jumps between frantic and floating – stomping and waltzing. Enjoy!
